European Road Trip
Fellow Alreetas. I have decided to organise my own european adventure. The plan is to get as many people as possible, with or without a vehicle to join me in an adventure across mainland europe and back. The plan is to visit 5 different countries in 6 days (this could easily change). Starting obviously in the UK, we would head to France, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Rep., Germany and Holland before returning home. Once again, this can easily change, other nations like Slovakia and Belgium could easily pop up into the equasion. Cities like Paris, Geneva, Munich, Prague, Berlin and Amsterdam are great places to visit and are all an easy drive to one another.
No dates have been set, nor have the final destinations. What you have read above is only a rough guide, an example... a taster!
We follow a few simple rules/regulations.
1) No car can hold more than 4 people (unless driving a mini van etc), 2 of which must be able to drive for obvious health and safety reasons. Plus, if one guy is driving all the time, then where is the fun in that for them?
2) In relation to above, minimum of 2 people per vehicle, both drivers.
3) We set the dates, the rendevouz points and a plan for the evening, the first two of which you must obide by, the third is at your own discression.
4) You must have a valid passport/drivers license (for those driving).
5) It is NOT a race. We will have a mock up award ceremony in Amsterdam for those who gain enough points from our special 'point conundrums'. There will be small tasks that can earn teams points whilst both on the road and in the cities. You do not need to play, but a possible forfeit can be in place for the team with the least points that chooses to participate.
6) You MUST meet up at the check point so I can sign you in before you enjoy the night. The same goes for the morning, everyone needs to be accounted for, whatever state you get yourself in (this is also why 2 drivers is important).
7) No excess luggage, we travel light. Only take what you need.
8) Atleast two mobile phones per vehicle. If there are any problems, we MUST be able to get in touch with somebody in the car.
9) Whilst on the adventure, you can pull out at any time, but don't expect to be handed a new road map to show you the way home, that is something I won't be producing. Local internet cafe's can help with that.
10) FINALLY, just have fun. Go and enjoy it, it's not a race, when you get to the destinations, feel free to go and explore, to do as you please. This is YOUR adventure on your own time, the rules/regulations are set in place for safety reasons and to make sure everybody can enjoy themselves.
So, fellow Alreetas, if anybody here is interested and would like to know more. Please response to this or check out the group that has been set up on facebook.
